Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan is a dish that is the symbol of Italian-American cuisine. It is a dish that is not Italian, but has its roots in Italian kitchens across America. Chicken Parm is one of my favorite meals to eat and make. It is very easy to make when you follow my recipe.

Ingredients:

3 chicken breasts
2 eggs
flour
Italian breadcrumbs
salt
pepper
parsley
oregano
Parmesan cheese
mozzarella cheese
tomato sauce
garlic powder
canola oil

Method:

First clean the chicken and cut off any fat. Then set up a breading station. You should set up 3 bowls with one having just flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl you should have the 2 eggs with some water. Wisk the eggs so that it is like scrambled eggs. In the other bowl you should put the Italian breadcrumbs, parsley, and oregano. When breading the chicken coat it first in the flour, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumbs. When you have all of the chicken breasts breaded, but in a frying pan on medium heat with enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Fry the chicken 6 minutes per side. When the chicken has been cooked on both sides, I add the sauce onto the chicken. I usually put at least a half a cup of sauce on top of each chicken breast. Then I put a mixture of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top of the sauced chicken. I then put a lid on so that the cheese melts evenly. On the side I made some penne, garlic bread, and a salad.

For the salad I used iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and celery. For the garlic bread I used butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, parley, oregano, and Parmesan cheese.  I cut the bread in half and intersperse the butter on both sides. I then put the minced garlic, garlic powder, parsley, oregano, and Parmesan cheese on it. I then put the top slice on the bottom and wrapped it in foil. I put it in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.

This a very simple dinner to make and it makes everyone happy. Almost everyone I know loves Chicken Parm. If you don't like it then there is something wrong with you or you are a vegetarian and like eggplant parm which is the same thing except substituting the chicken for the eggplant. Enjoy this amazing Italian-American meal with a good bottle of wine and you are all set for a great dinner. Enjoy!!!
