Pan Fried Chicken and Waffles

The combination of fried chicken and breakfast waffles is amazing. If you have not tried the combination yet, well then you are missing out. My first experience with this delicious dish was at a local pop up restuarant called WooDaddy Waffles. It was amazing there and I felt like I could recreate the dish on my own. So when figuring out what to do about dinner, I suggested to my friend that we make it. He had never tried it before and was down to try it.

Ingredients:
a whole chicken cut into eight pieces
flour
salt
pepper
cayenne pepper
cinnamon
oil
pre-made waffles.

Method:
Wash the chicken parts and dry with a paper towel. Then in a ziploc or paper bag, mix the spices and the flour together. Then place the chicken pieces into the bag of flour and spices until the pieces of chicken are fully coated in flour. Then heat a pan or pot with about enough oil to coat the pan up to a 1/2 inch. Cook the chicken with the side side down for 7 minutes covered. Then flip the chicken and uncover it for another 7 minutes. Then flip it again for 5 minutes. Finallly, flip it again and cook for 2 minutes. The chicken should be ready. Let the chicken drain on paper towels. You can keep the chicken warm in a 300 degree Fahrenheit oven.  We did not have in our possession a waffle maker so we had to use frozen waffles. Serve the waffles with maple syrup and butter. The fried chicken should be served with hot sauce. This is something that hits all of the taste buds. Its meaty, crispy, salty, sweet, and spicy. Try it out for yourself and realize what you have been missing. Enjoy!
