Hacienda Don Juan

A week ago, I was hanging out at my friend's apartment and his roommate came in with take-out. I asked him where he got it from and he told me it was Mexican and Salvadorian food from this restaurant called Hacienda Don Juan. Its on Main St just past Moynihan's going towards downtown Worcester. So I decided to check it out during spring break. I went with my friend Jesse and we got pupusas, which are Salvadorian stuffed tortillas basically. I got the chicken and cheese pupusas, which come with cabbage coleslaw and tomato sauce. We both ordered two which are plenty. We also ordered their nachos which were huge. The nachos came with cheese sauce, pickled jalapenos, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and beans. They have very affordable soft tacos which come with chopped onion and cilantro. I have tried the carnitas, birria, and al pastor tacos. The tacos also came with a light salsa verde. They are pretty darn tasty and for $1.75, they are wicked affordable for college students like myself. I also have had their chicken tamale. They offer Mexican tamales which are wrapped in a corn husk, and a Salvadorian tamale which is wrapped in banana leaf. The tamale came iwth salsa and shredded lettuce. Trust me, once you try this place you will want to make it a regular option. It is much better than going to Moe's for burritos and tacos. When I went with my friend Jesse, we could hear the grandmas making the food in the kitchen. When a restaurant employs grandmas as cooks, you know it is going to be wicked delicious. Clarkies should try this place out because it is walking distance from campus. If you live in the Worcester area and you like Mexican food, you should try this place out.
